'Juneteenth: The Galveston Story'

is an expository documentary filmed in April of Twenty-Twenty-One in Galveston Texas. It was 'released' on June fifth Two-Thousand Twenty-One, just twelve days prior to Juneteenth being made a national holiday.

In this Documentary we explore the history of Juneteenth as it relates to Galveston. We glance at the end of the civil war, the events that transpired shortly after the war, why Galveston is marked as the "Birthplace of Juneteenth". We dive into how Galveston changed over time and why Galveston was so pivotal to the United States and the Southern economy. We also explore the celebration of change, the remembrance of what we as a nation have come through and why it is important to keep the history alive!
